Just started this blog!

I've made this little corner of the internet to have as a portfolio of my Wedding photography!

I've just started this year getting into wedding photography and I absolutely love it. I began assisting other photographers and just loved the experience - the day is just mental; so much to do & remember, it's like a triathalon of every kind of photography there is, it's about the right gear, the right angles, the right exposures... but it's also just about people in love. Mums & daughters, sisters, friends, grandparents, the whole day just beams with love and excitement and it's unlike anything else to get to be there and try and capture it all.

I want to tell a story with the weddings I've photograph. Being in the brides house as early as she'll let me - catching all the gigles, tears, jewellry adjustments as they naturally happen, to the more frantic way groomsmen can cheekily throw themselves together! Catching toasts and hyper kids running about, to the guests milling around and seeing people they havent met for years, then all the special little moments in the ceremony - I can duck around without you noticing and freeze the memories because theyll probably fly past you! For the rest of the day, I can catch smiles and winks and hugs, then all the cringes & shocked faces during the speeches! And the first dance, and the second third forth fifth!

I'd descibe my style of wedding photography as very natural and relaxed, the buzzwords of 'candid' & 'reportage'/'documentary' style obviously fit this style as well, but I like to think of it as quite intimate as well. My goal would be for the photographs to reflect exactly how the day really felt for you & your family. I use natural light to really give the feel of genuine memories - so you don't remember me ever asking you to pose that way - in fact you mightnt notice all the the things I caught till you see the photos!

My other area of photography would be fine-art & fashion portraiture, where I like to create surreal scenes and conceptual pieces - this element I like to bring into the bride&groom portraits. For these, we need some time together after or before the ceremony, and I can direct you for some unique, romantic portraits of the two of you that are exactly your taste & style! Since I'm just beginning, I have so many ideas I want to try - and can run some past you in our consultation & plan some especially for you!

Taking Bookings for 2012!
